Lee Kum Kee Family Foundation
“Loving Family – Thank You Grandparents 2025” Drawing Competition
Established in 2008, Lee Kum Kee Family Foundation has been committed to fostering harmonious relationships in family and society, strengthening bonds between grandparents, parents, and grandchildren to reinforce mutual respect and appreciation across generations within families. In August 2024, the Foundation conducted a survey titled “Appreciating Grandparents: Family Relationships and Love”, which revealed that Hong Kong grandparents rate their satisfaction with grandparent-grandchild relationships at 8.05 out of 10. In Hong Kong, grandparents play a unique role in the family, offering a wealth of life wisdom and experience. A close intergenerational relationship can provide profound emotional support for both grandparents and grandchildren. The most effective way for grandchildren to strengthen ties with their grandparents is to express genuine care. The survey serves as a reminder that open communication and understanding grandparents’ emotional needs are essential to nurturing respect and care for elders in younger generations – a virtue foundational to family harmony.
To further promote intergenerational bonding and encourage grandchildren to express appreciation and love for their grandparents, Lee Kum Kee Family Foundation cordially invites all primary students in Hong Kong to participate in “Loving Family – Thank You Grandparents 2025” Drawing Competition.
Objectives
The competition encourages grandchildren to appreciate their grandparents through art, promoting the culture of “Appreciation Starts at Home.” It fosters communication across generations, strengthens family bonds, and raises social awareness of the elderly’s contributions.
